Inselhalle Lindau | Program & Parking (P4)

The Inselhalle Lindau combines a unique island location, modern architecture, and highly flexible event spaces in close proximity to the historic old town. On one side, the hall opens up to the Small Lake with a terrace and lake foyer, while on the other side are winding alleys, boutiques, and cafés of Lindau Island. The central address Zwanzigerstraße 10 makes getting there easy: it’s just a few steps from the Inselhalle to the parking garage P4 and a short walk to the island train station. Inside, three combinable halls form the heart of the venue; ten conference rooms on the ground floor and additional rooms in the basement expand the possibilities from focused workshops to large plenary events. Thanks to high-quality media technology, spacious foyers, and the in-house restaurant ONU, the Inselhalle is equally suitable for concerts, congresses, and gala evenings. You can find dates, program details, and ticket links through the official event calendar, while floor plans and seating capacities provide orientation for room planning in the download area. This makes the Inselhalle a clear favorite for organizers and guests who appreciate short distances, clear processes, and a special atmosphere by Lake Constance.

Program, Tickets, and Pre-Sale: Stay Updated

The program of the Inselhalle is published centrally in the event calendar, which is continuously updated with current concerts, shows, fairs, and congresses. Each event page contains the most important details such as time, entry, format, and the direct ticket link. If you prefer to buy tickets in person, you can use the tourist information recommended in the calendar notes at Alfred-Nobel-Platz 1 in Lindau or the info point in Lindaupark at Kemptener Straße 1. Both pre-sale locations are listed with phone numbers, so inquiries can be quickly clarified. For culture-interested guests, checking the calendar is particularly worthwhile, as alongside classical concerts and comedy programs, high-profile conferences and lectures are regularly featured. The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings, which annually bring together scientists with laureates, have an international impact and have shaped the Inselhalle for decades. The event pages also provide information about specifics such as free seating or fixed seating plans, entry and cloakroom notes, or any age restrictions. If you already have dates in mind, you can secure tickets early and save time on event days, for example, by using the prepaid ticket in the parking garage. The calendar also includes information on accessible entrances and accompanying services, making planning easier for guests with mobility restrictions. Tip for regular visitors: The calendar also features events in and around Lindau, allowing cultural or congress visits at the Inselhalle to be ideally combined with city walks, lakeside promenades, or dining options. This way, an evening program quickly becomes a small Lindau experience that remains memorable beyond the event itself.

Parking P4, Arrival, and Short Distances: Convenient to the Inselhalle

Directly opposite the Inselhalle is the parking garage P4 with around 400 parking spaces. It is designed to be accessible and offers not only spacious parking spaces but also designated disabled and family parking spots as well as electric charging stations. For visitors, this means short distances from the car to the hall and back, even during peak visitor times. The city of Lindau publishes clear rates for P4 with hourly rates during the day and evening as well as a night flat rate. Additionally, on event days, there is a practical prepaid ticket at a flat rate starting from early evening, allowing exit until the morning of the following day and reducing waiting times at the machine. Another plus: From 2026, the city will switch to a digital, barrier-free parking management system. Entry will then occur without stopping, the parking process will be initiated via license plate recognition, and payment can be made at the machine or via app. This keeps the process smooth even after the event ends. If you prefer to use public transport, you will benefit from the location of the Inselhalle on Lindau Island. Regional trains serve the island train station; from there, it’s just a few minutes' walk to Zwanzigerstraße 10. The new long-distance transport hub Reutin connects Lindau with important cities, and the onward journey to the island is easily managed with the city bus running frequently. For larger congresses, the Inselhalle is a destination of short distances: the parking garage, Therese-von-Bayern-Platz, foyers, and halls are all closely located. Alternative parking options in the city area, such as P1 Blauwiese with city bus connections, can serve as a supplement for fairs and large formats. Those staying overnight can reach many hotels on the island on foot; thus, arrival and departure times can be well planned. Thanks to clear signage and the island location, orientation remains intuitive even for first-time visitors. The Inselhalle provides information on parking, arrival, bus transport, and payment options on its information page, allowing guests to tailor their arrival according to personal preferences.

Room Plan, Seats, and Capacities: Flexible from Workshop to Plenary Hall

The room structure of the Inselhalle is designed for versatility. The centerpiece is three halls that can be used individually or in combination. Hall 1 offers around 581 square meters of space for about 600 guests and features a stage measuring 16 by 7 meters, freight and passenger elevators, and access to artist dressing rooms. A large main screen is complemented by five additional screens, with additional projection areas installed depending on the combination. Hall 2, with 319 square meters, has natural light and direct access to the lake foyer; with row seating, up to 303 seats are possible. Hall 3, with 113 square meters, is ideal for workshops and lectures in a smaller setting and offers up to 77 seats in a row. When all three halls are combined, the Great Hall is created, with around 1,013 square meters and up to 1,106 seats in row seating. This room is designed for good visibility and intelligibility even at maximum seating capacity, thanks to modern sound systems, multiple screens, and a hearing loop. The halls are complemented by ten conference rooms on the ground floor and additional rooms in the basement, some of which can be modularly combined. For example, in the eastern wing, by connecting conference rooms 1, 2, and 3, up to 307 square meters can be created with space for around 312 people in a row. Lounge areas in the basement, including Lounge 1, can be connected to larger areas of up to about 630 square meters and are suitable for banquets, break catering, or accompanying content. The spacious foyers play a central role: the main foyer covers around 974 square meters, and in combination with adjacent areas, even about 1,283 square meters can be used for exhibitions or evening events. The lake foyer, with approximately 193 square meters, opens up to the water through glass fronts and creates a direct connection to Lake Constance. Therefore, there is deliberately no classic rigid seating plan; rather, the seating is optimized for each event. For planning, the Inselhalle provides floor plans and seating capacities in the download area. Hearing support is implemented through loop systems in the relevant rooms, making lectures and panels more accessible. Regardless of the format, the combination of stage dimensions, projection technology, additional screens, and flexible seating ensures that speakers, panels, or artists remain well perceivable in all configurations.

Catering, Lake Foyer, and Restaurant ONU: Culinary Well-Supplied

For a successful event, the catering infrastructure is crucial. In the Inselhalle, this is handled by the in-house restaurant ONU, which is directly connected to the lake foyer. The name stands for togetherness and reflects the culinary concept: enjoy together, share, and try in a sociable setting. The team, led by hosts with years of congress experience, focuses on carefully selected regional products, which are transformed into modern, cosmopolitan dishes. Inside, the restaurant offers about 80 to 100 seats; the large sun terrace accommodates up to around 130 seats with a view of the small marina. This way, conference evenings can be relaxed by the water. For congresses and cultural evenings, the team provides flexible catering components from an extensive lunch offer to exclusive dinners, including vegetarian and regional options. The connection to the lake foyer and foyers shortens walking distances to break stations and flying buffets. For short coffee breaks, aperitifs, or get-togethers, the lake foyer with its glass front and direct connection to the lake is suitable; in good weather, the doors to the terrace open. The kitchen connection of the lounge areas in the basement is designed so that large groups can be served quickly without disturbing the processes in the halls. The Inselhalle also offers suitable solutions for smaller formats: breakout snacks in conference rooms, speaker catering behind the stage, or an exclusive table in separate lounges. Those who wish to combine culinary experiences with a supporting program benefit from the operators' tourism expertise: the combination of island walks, harbor views, and regional specialties turns breaks into real experience moments. This creates a well-rounded overall package where technology, logistics, and enjoyment go hand in hand.

Renting, Formats, and Services: 46 Room Variants for Your Event

The Inselhalle is designed as a full-service location for organizers. The team supports from the first idea through room and technical planning to hotel block management and program organization. The modular structure of the building allows for 46 room variants, so everything can be precisely planned from workshops with a few dozen participants to plenary sessions with over 1,100 guests. In addition to the three halls, conference rooms of varying sizes are available, some of which can be combined. For accompanying exhibitions, fairs, or poster sessions, the main foyer and expanded foyer together offer over 1,200 square meters of space. The lounge areas in the basement are supplied with daylight through light wells and are thus also suitable for networking, banquets, and hospitality. Outside, the approximately 2,500 square meter Therese-von-Bayern-Platz expands the possibilities, for example, for outdoor exhibits, open-air receptions, or photo opportunities. Event technology includes projection, sound, stage and media technology, as well as hearing support systems. The stage in the Great Hall measures 16 by 7 meters and is accessible via freight and passenger elevators; image areas and additional screens ensure good visibility even at maximum seating. For hybrid and digital formats, there are proven setups that allow live broadcasts into conference rooms. Thanks to the short distances on the island, logistics can be planned: the parking garage P4 is directly adjacent, deliveries are clearly regulated, and accommodations are within walking distance. Significant formats that demonstrate the venue's capabilities serve as references, including the Lindau Psychotherapy Weeks with several thousand participants over two weeks and international congresses from science and civil society. Those wishing to rent the Inselhalle receive comprehensive advice; the team combines congress expertise and destination expertise to jointly develop suitable room and service packages. With the combination of location advantages, technology, and an experienced team, the Inselhalle is a reliable choice for ambitious programs.

History and Special Features: Stage of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings

The Inselhalle is closely linked to the history of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings. Since the 1950s, the international scientific community has met here annually: Nobel laureates come together with selected young scientists to set impulses across disciplinary boundaries and promote dialogue between generations. In the 1980s, the Inselhalle became the permanent home of the meetings, solidifying its role as a place of knowledge exchange. Between 2016 and 2018, the building was extensively modernized and expanded; on August 8, 2018, the renewed Inselhalle celebrated its official opening. A Nobel laureate meeting took place in the modernized building in June of the same year. The architecture by Auer Weber combines polygonal roof shapes in copper optics with generous glazing that establishes the connection to the lake. In addition to the scientific lighthouse formats, other major events shape the profile of the venue: the Lindau Psychotherapy Weeks are considered one of the largest events in the industry and attract several thousand professionals to Lindau each year; in 2019, the World Assembly of Religions for Peace convened with around 1,000 participants at the Inselhalle. This mix of culture- and science-related formats, combined with the location by Lake Constance, defines the character of the Inselhalle. For visitors, this means a program that ranges from high-profile lectures and panel discussions to concerts and shows to professional congresses. For organizers, the history shows that the venue can handle demanding logistics and media attention. Those wishing to gain an impression can find images and exemplary setups on the room pages and in the calendar. The close interconnection of the Inselhalle, parking garage, town square, and lakeside promenade also makes the location a showcase for the city of Lindau itself, which offers the perfect setting with short distances, a maritime backdrop, and a vibrant old town.

Super location We attended Lisa Eckhart's show last Saturday. Simply brilliant. I would rate the Inselhalle the same way. Great staff, good organization, fair drink prices. A successful evening. Thank you very much, we will definitely come back.

Very nice hall, good acoustics, good air conditioning. Deducting points for the architect and the idea of putting the cloakroom in the basement, causing guests to block the stairs during pickup. That's not optimal.

Great location for a graduation party. Only the organization of the food could have been better (30 minutes of waiting in the foyer while the party was going on). Food was okay.

Totally beautiful event venue. It is noted that everything is accessible for people with disabilities. Therefore, I find it a shame that there are no seating options outside or inside the hall.

Ideal concept on a rather historical, tourist island to attract a touch of modernity and a different target audience. Making the island more attractive for the local population and the B2B sector. Perfectly solved with a relatively inexpensive multi-story parking garage right next door.
