Events & Program for the XL Maidult 2026 at DultStadl
The XL Maidult 2026 spans eleven days – starting on Thursday, April 30, 2026, until Sunday, May 10, 2026. This extended duration is due to the holiday at the beginning and provides for particularly long festival enjoyment. The DultStadl announces a daily live program that typically ranges from traditional brass music to party sounds and atmospheric band evenings. While the detailed running order for 2026 will be published shortly before the festival begins, the major highlights of the Dult experience are already set: Dult Wednesday is traditionally the day of the fireworks – with particularly good visibility from the festival grounds and beer garden. On the first festival Sunday, the magnificent costume and marksmen parade winds through the old town; with hundreds of groups and thousands of participants, it is one of the largest parades in Bavaria and leads many visitors directly to the Dult grounds. A family day with special offers for children is also part of the overall program of the Dult and is supported by the DultStadl with child-friendly activities. Culinary constants include Bavarian classics from the DultStadl's menu, which are also promoted with changing lunch offers during the day. The beer garden invites guests to sit outside in suitable weather, while bars and served table areas inside ensure short distances. The program will be announced on the DultStadl channels as well as on the information pages of the city and tourism marketing; it is therefore worthwhile to keep an eye on the announcements in the weeks leading up to the start. Regardless of the individual band or evening theme, the mix of music, regional hospitality, and festival atmosphere is the common thread: every day, live music plays, and every day there is room for sociability – from a cozy morning beer to a big party in the evening.
Tickets, Reservations & Admission: How to Secure Your Spot
No admission tickets are required for the DultStadl: Access is generally free during the Dult days. Those who want to secure a seat can reserve tables – without reservation fees. The reservation office of the DultStadl is not staffed year-round and will reopen for the Maidult 2026 in March; until then, inquiries can be easily made via WhatsApp or email. From experience, it is advisable, especially for larger groups, company or club evenings, to place reservations early. In parallel to the reservation policy, the DultStadl consciously relies on areas without reservations: The Weissbierbox with bar and standing tables as well as the Stadlbar are accessible at any time without reservation, and the beer garden traditionally remains completely reservation-free. Additionally, on busy days, certain tables in front of the stage remain centrally reservation-free – on Fridays, Sundays, and before holidays – allowing last-minute visitors to find a spot close to the action. Those who come without a reservation usually have particularly good chances of getting a table in their desired area during the week; on weekends, arriving early helps. For planning, it is helpful: There are no numbered seats like in a concert hall; rather, they consist of classic beer tent tables and benches. This simplifies arrangements for larger groups and ensures short distances between table, bar, and stage. It is also practical that the DultStadl team transparently communicates the most important information – from opening hours to reservation-free zones – allowing guests to assess in advance which area suits their group. Those who want to be absolutely sure can use the contact options of the DultStadl once the office is regularly staffed in March 2026 and will then receive a written reservation confirmation.
Directions, Bus & Parking: Easily Reach Messepark Kohlbruck
The Dult grounds are located in Messepark Kohlbruck, south of Passau's city center. For navigation devices, 'Dr.-Emil-Brichta-Straße 11, 94036 Passau' has proven effective; on-site, the signage 'Messepark Kohlbruck' helps with final orientation. Thanks to its location at the trade fair and event center, the transport connections are versatile: For drivers, around 2,500 parking spaces are available nearby. Those using the city bus can reach the Dult grounds via several lines; important stops are the 'Dr.-Emil-Brichta-Straße' and 'Kohlbruck/Erlebnisbad (PEB)' stops. For the Maidult, the schedules will be expanded and additional trips will be established. Evening additional buses after the festival end and free return trips from the Dult to the ZOB starting at 8:00 PM are among the city’s Dult offerings; details and times vary by year and are announced by the municipal utilities before the festival starts. This offer makes traveling to and from the event without a car particularly attractive – especially on weekends. For visitors, this means: Use the regular lines with increased frequencies for the outbound journey, choose the designated additional buses or the free return trips to the ZOB after the event. The area is also easily accessible on foot from the parking areas and stops, with marked paths. Those coming from the surrounding area benefit from the proximity to the A3 and federal highways as well as the clear route guidance in Messepark. For groups, it is advisable to agree on meeting points in the area of the stops or in the central square. It is important to note: Traffic regulations may be temporarily adjusted on the opening day due to the parade; the city publishes current notices accordingly. With this combination of navigation address, signage, special bus services, and ample parking, the Dult grounds are particularly well connected during the Maidult.
Seating Plan, Reservation-Free Areas & Best Seats at a Glance
The DultStadl operates on the classic beer tent principle: long rows of tables, short distances, and direct proximity to the stage. Instead of fixed, numbered seats, there are reservable table areas and deliberately spacious zones without reservations. The reservation-free areas include the Weissbierbox with bar and standing tables, the Stadlbar, and the beer garden (completely reservation-free). Additionally, on certain days, central tables in front of the stage remain reservation-free (on Fridays, Sundays, and before holidays). Those seeking a good view will naturally find it in the front rows. Those who prefer more freedom of movement will find themselves well accommodated in the edge zones of the middle section or in the bar areas. For families, the beer garden is often the most convenient solution: It is quieter than directly in front of the stage, and the paths to drinks and food are short. For groups, it is advisable to specify the desired area (e.g., closer to the stage or more to the side) when making a reservation; the team can assess which zones are sensible for the respective evening. Since the opening hours are clearly regulated (daily starting at 10:00 AM on Sundays and holidays or at 11:00 AM on other days; last call at 12:00 AM; closing at 12:30 AM), the evening can be well timed – for example, by arriving early to get one of the reservation-free spots or by later moving to the Weissbierbox for the wind-down. Overall, the seating system thrives on simplicity and fairness: many freely accessible areas, sufficient reservation options without fees, and short distances that allow for movement between zones at any time.
Highlights & Special Features: From Fireworks to Festival Beer
The charm of the DultStadl arises from the combination of program points, culinary offerings, and regional identity. The Maidult traditionally features a Wednesday fireworks display, which is visible from the festival grounds and especially beautifully from the beer garden. The grand costume and marksmen parade on the first festival Sunday brings groups with elaborately embroidered costumes, decorated horses, and brass music into the city year after year; afterwards, many spectators head directly to the Dult grounds, where the DultStadl continues the celebration with live music. For families, there is a designated family day with child-friendly activities. Culinary offerings at the DultStadl focus on Bavarian delicacies – from hearty classics to changing lunch offers. Regional brands are at the forefront of the beer selection: Festbiere from Innstadt Bräu and Brauerei Hacklberg are served; at the bars, there are also wine spritzers, long drinks, and non-alcoholic alternatives. Practical information rounds out the offer: The city has established clear time windows and service offerings for the Dult for years, including special schedules from the municipal utilities with additional buses and free evening return trips to the ZOB. Many parking spaces are available in the immediate vicinity of the Messepark area, making it possible to arrive by car as well. Those who come without a reservation can celebrate spontaneously thanks to the reservation-free zones; those planning with a larger group can conveniently reserve via WhatsApp or email in March. Last but not least, the DultStadl thrives on its atmosphere: The tent is a meeting place for locals, students, families, and guests from the surrounding area – a stage for brass music in the afternoon, a party sound magnet in the evening, and a place where Passau hospitality can be experienced. Whether it's a morning beer, family afternoon, classic beer tent evening, or fireworks Wednesday: The DultStadl allows you to experience the Dult in all its facets – close to the stage, casually at the bar, or relaxed in the beer garden.

A huge fun for young and old. Fair parking fees. Normal prices for attractions and food. Unfortunately a bit outside the center.
